Household Finance and Consumption Network (HFCN)
The Household Finance and Consumption Network (HFCN) consists of survey specialists, statisticians and economists from the ECB, the national central banks of the Eurosystem and a number of national statistical institutes.
The HFCN conducts the Eurosystem's Household Finance and Consumption Survey (HFCS), which collects household-level data on household finances and consumption. There have been four survey waves, for which the data were released in April 2013, December 2016, March 2020, and July 2023, respectively.
ACCESS TO THE DATA
The HFCS datasets are available to researchers for research purposes.
About the network
The HFCN has been tasked by the Governing Council of the ECB with
- implementing the HFCS
- acting as a forum for research that uses survey data
- further developing the HFCS.
